68-A Inspections

The 68-A inspection is a Law Enforcement Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Inspection for vehicle title purposes or to determine if an assigned or re-assigned VIN is necessary for titling. This is not a safety inspection, nor do we provide a weight scale. This inspection is often needed to obtain a bonded title, register a homemade trailer, register a vehicle that previously hasn't had a title, was imported from out of the country, or for other reasons.

VIN Etching

VIN etching permanently engraves the VIN of a vehicle on the windshield and windows. VIN etching is a proven auto theft deterrent and some insurance companies offer discounts for vehicles with VIN etching. Contact the task force to host a VIN etching event at your business or organization.

Public Education

Prevention and education efforts include VIN-etching, educational presentations, participation in community events, and coordination of the dissemination of public information through local media outlets.
