The Parks Division is responsible for the maintenance of all parks, playgrounds, restrooms, pavilions, swimming pool, athletic fields, and the two lakes in the City's park system.
Parks is responsible for numerous other City properties consisting of over 240 acres as well as mowing of all roadside rights of way, and creeks within the city limits where City easements have been established.
Common work provided by this Division includes upkeep on high grass, high weeds, and visual hazards along the streets, sidewalks, pathways, and parks to ensure safe passage by motorists and pedestrians.

The City of Paris Parks & Recreation Department provides opportunities for athletics and recreation! Located at 50 West Hickory, the City Parks & Recreation Department assists citizens when making reservations for picnics, gatherings, weddings, birthday parties, softball games, playgrounds, and so much more! Citizens may come to the office to reserve the following venues for a minimal fee. This fee helps pay for crews to prepare the park, building and pavilion to make your event a special day.
Each venue shines with specific amenities:
Bywaters Park, located in the 300 block of South Main, boasts of the 1931 Corinthian Peristyle. Graduates and wedding parties enjoy the perfect backdrop for their memories.
Culbertson Park, located 16th SE & Hearon, offers two tennis courts, two ball fields, a basketball court, pavilion and playground.
Event Center, 1875 Fitzhugh, provides the perfect indoor venue. It has a 300-person occupancy with 200 chairs and 40 tables provided. Event Center application
Lake Crook, located off Highway 271 North, with its new playground equipment, 800 acres, fishing pier and pavilion provides the perfect venue for fun. Enjoy fishing and boating opportunities. Portables are provided. Lake Crook Road is also known as CR 31700.
Leon Williams Park, located at 7th NW & Henderson, offers two pavilions, one ballfield and two basketball courts. The playground is enjoyed by many children in our community. Restrooms are provided.
Oak Park, located at 2625 Bonham, is the perfect place for your quaint gathering under the pavilion. It offers a 1/2 mile walking track for adults and a playground for children. Portables are provided.
Sports Complex Pavilion, located at 2005 South Collegiate, is the perfect venue for huge gatherings. Restrooms are provided.
Wade Park, located at 2400 East Price, is one of the City’s most popular parks with a roller-hockey rink, backstops, pavilion and playground for children. Restrooms are provided.
Walker Park, located at 18th NW & Shiloh, challenges even the best disc golfer with an 18-hole disc course. Roam the 18.8 acres or enjoy the pavilion.
Wise Field, located at 638 4th SW, provides two fields for practice, and at $10/hr, it’s a bargain! Restrooms are provided.
Sports Complex Fields is the place in town for your tournament. It provides a playground, concession stand and restrooms. The fields are located behind Love Civic Center on Collegiate.
