[ARCHIVED] Citizens Academy

The City of Paris announces the second class of the Paris Citizens Academy (PCA) is accepting applications. This program is a little different from the last one in that this academy will focus primarily on the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT. The format follows a format similar to Citizen’s Police Academy but instead focuses on the Public Work Divisions of Fleet Maintenance, Parks and Recreation, Sanitation, Sewer Repair, Streets, Traffic and Water Distribution. The goal of this program is to provide insight to the public on city operations and improve communication and understanding between Paris Citizens and their city government. PCA is a five week commitment with meetings being held in the City Council Chambers (107 East Kaufman) on Thursday nights from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The instructors are all members if the various Public Works divisions and will provide instruction and information concerning their particular area of public service. The class begins on March 3, 2011 and graduation on April 7, 2011.
