Paris, TEXAS (July 12,2010) Carter Blood Care will be at the Paris Public Library on Friday, July 16 from noon until 4:00 p.m. for the Library's "Donate Blood and Cure a Fine" blood drive. This is the third time the Library and Carter BloodCare have joined forces to encourage area residents to donate blood that could save someone's life. As an added bonus, those that donate blood will be given a certificate that will "cure" a library fme for the donor or someone oftheir choice. The certificates are good through September 30, 2010, and are for fines that are already on a card or that may be placed on the account before September 30.
You must be in good general health, weight a minimum of 110 pounds, be at least 17 years old, (16 with parental consent), and have photo identification. People who give blood should eat a low-fat meal within 4 hours before giving blood, and drink lots of water or juice before donating.
